Guess who's back? The MALIK SISTERS are!!! We've been Missing In Action for a while but we're hoping to be back with a BAM this time and for good, of course. 2015 was an amazing year for the Malik Sisters and we're hoping to share all of that with you in our next few blogs. Our biggest highlight of the year together was our amazing three month vacation around the world this past summer! We were blessed to be able to travel so much and see how beautiful the world really is. This vacation only inspired us to travel more, but at the same time, appreciate every day with each other, no matter where we are.
Our first stop of our amazing vacation was Turkey! Turkey is beautiful! We stayed in New and Old Istanbul throughout our stay there and we literally fell in love. The city's mosques were all beautiful in their own ways, each and every one of them had their own distinctive features. The call to prayer five times a day was something we miss so much. We also took a cruise to see the city skyline and traveled the tram every day! Our hotels on our stay were also amazing. The little streets of Old Istanbul were full of culture and charisma that we only saw in Turkey. The culture, people, food, and hookah are just a few of the more amazing things about the country!
Our next stop was Germany! We stayed in Germany for about two weeks and loved it! Germany is a beautiful country with beautiful churches and castles that you have to see. And of course, where there's family, there's always happiness! Spending time with our relatives in Germany was amazing. Oh, and we also had international licenses so you knew we were speeding on the Autobon! ;)
While
we were in Germany, we decided to drive through as much of Europe as
we can in the span of two weeks. One weekend, we went on a road trip
and visited three beautiful countries: Belgium, Amsterdam, and of
course, France.
We first stopped in France and actually stayed the night in Paris. Paris is what everyone says it is: the city of love. It was beautiful! Walking in Paris was a dream come true. The city is full of love, lights, and beautiful people throughout. The Eiffel Tower is just as amazing as it is in pictures. The Chanselise is a beautiful place to walk around and SHOP of course! You know we saw the Paris Bridges' Locks of Love! We were actually the last few to see the locks before they were taken down. We definitely want to go back and stay for more than two days like we did so we can capture more about Paris then we saw in such a short amount of time.
The
next day we left Paris to go to Belgium. We visited Brussels, Belgium
and all we can say about Brussels is...CHOCOLATE. As you know,
Belgium is known for its chocolate which is aaaahmaaayzing!!! We
visited the town center in Brussels and fell in love. The center of
town is beautiful and seeing tons of Chocolate shops made it so much
more amazing. You know we made sure to buy lots of chocolate for the
rest of the trip!
Our last stop in Europe was the Netherlands. We took a stop at the capital, Amsterdam. Although it was a rainy day, we took a boat tour through the city canal and that was beautiful. The city was full of beautiful architecture and very interesting shops, lol. It was an amazing experience. And if you know the Malik Sisters, you know our obsession with Pakistani singer Imran Khan. He is from Amsterdam so we were on the look out for him the entire time, but unfortunately we didn't see him. :( Maybe next time!
After
these two amazing weeks in Europe, our last final stop was Pakistan
and that to for a good while to celebrate Ramadan and Eid in Pakistan
for the very first time!! Our trip was postponed by a few days due to
flight issues but we were able to stay in Turkey for another few days
so we did not mind that at all! We were able to take in more of
Turkey and then headed to our last destination of our amazing
vacation: Pakistan. This time around in Pakistan, since we were in
travel mode, we decided to travel a bit more in Pakistan as well.
Luckily, we were able to see many amazing places in Pakistan, making
us see Pakistan's true beauty. From historical sites such as the Data
Darbar, Badshahi Masjid, the Shahi Killa, Keora Salt Mine, and the
Pakistan/India Border, to famous restaurants and beautiful malls, and
a traditional Pakistani wedding, we saw how amazing Pakistan really
is (despite the insane amounts of heat)!! At the same time, we were
able to celebrate the religious month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid
with our huge family! Our stay in Pakistan was definitely the icing
to the cake of this amazing vacation!
